What it handles well

Text documents: contracts, resumes, letters, articles, reports and manuals. Headings, paragraphs, numbered and bulleted lists, bold and italic inside a line, text colour, tables with visible rules, images, and scanned pages through on-device text recognition.

And where it struggles

Magazine-style multi-column layouts, deeply nested tables and text wrapped around images come out simplified — the text is all there, the arrangement is not. We would rather say that here than take your money and let you find out.

Does it really work without internet?

Yes. Conversion uses only your device. The one thing that needs a connection is the purchase itself, because Apple handles payments.

What about scanned PDFs?

Pages with no text layer go through text recognition on the device. Handwriting is not supported.

Which format do I get?

A standard .docx file that opens in Microsoft Word, Pages, Google Docs and LibreOffice.
